there i said it. this is what i say every time i wake up like i did today.
i have not drank in a long time...you know like more than 2 drinks and last night i had 5. it is 4:15PM and i am finally a functioning adult again.
i had a blast! i found the perfect outfit in record time! i also have no pictures to prove it either so you will have to imagine it to my explanation. a little black wrap around dress (well if you consider a Large little) ($69) the best most uncomfortable leopard print 4" heels. ($49) a hip black Gucci handbag (was $72 not so bad right?) perfect double strand long black glass/plastic bead necklace ($15) large black hoop earing's ($7) the feel good feeling of a new outfit and looking good...priceless!
i borrowed my neighbor heather's curlers and curling iron (can you believe i do not have these things?) and had a bunch of banana curl style long curls around my head. that description sounds fugly but trust me it was cute.
watched the premier of the show with red carpets and strobe lights to the sky and everything. i was in the premiere footage which was fun for bill to watch and will be in a couple of the upcoming shows (episode 5 &6 i think). got to mingle with all of the inventors and hang out with the ever so much fun staff at enventys and bouncing brain productions.
however, by the time the wine i was drinking kicked in and the fact that i broke the #1 cardinal rule of drinking by having a beer too, by midnight i got that feeling. you know that feeling... where suddenly this is no longer fun, i feel drunk. we have to go. bill we have to go! bill was the designated driver, so we politely excused ourselves (and the party was over anyway). and by the time we got home i had to have bill pull over multiple times for the "i think i am going to be sick" stop. classy, huh? after my 45 minute power nap beside the porcelain throne, i crawled into bed.
so back to this morning... i am 35, too old to have a hangover...i should know better! a 35 year old hangover is 10 times the ones i remember in my 20's.
boy wouldn't that make a heartwarming scrapbook page for the grandkids! HA!
and i have a "cocktail party" to attend tonight at 7:30pm for the EVERYDAY EDISON'S premiere. you may remember me talking about the show earlier this year. the show airs on PBS tomorrow (April 28th) you can check out the times for your area through the everyday Edison's link. my "starring" role will not be until episode 6th but i am psyched to watch!
so back to my post, today i...
boxed up 15 camera bag orders
got my period.
deposited my check in the bank.
carried 15 boxes to the post office
made some phone calls.
cleaned up the kitchen.
posted to my blog.
and arranged the baby-sitter
however i still have not made it to the mall to get an OUTFIT!!! who has cocktail party outfits just lying around? i got jeans, crocs and t's!!!
so here is the plan... payton just got home. mckenna gets home at 2 bill and i are going to drop the kids off at the drop in daycare (they love it there!) and head to the mall. oh did i mention he has nothing to wear either?
i hate to order take out. not sure why? for some reason i would rather the other person (husband, mom, friend) to do it.
some days i eat big bowls of life cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner...YUMMY!
i almost never read a magazine, not even the scrapbooking ones. i just turn the pages for visual inspiration. every once in a while the pictures grab my attention enough to read through. even as a columnist for simple and an author of 3 books you will notice i write in short snippets of information...short attention span i guess.
i have been singing "i'm bringing sexy back" (you know the justin timberlake song) all day today as i scrapbook, but instead substituting the word "eyelets" for "sexy". sing it with me..."i'm bringing eyelets back...them mother %^&*%^@ don't know how to act..."
i hate it when cabinet, closet or my powder room doors have been left open. i feel like i am closing them all day long.
i bought kielbasa for dinner...love kielbasa! stir in some seasonings, tomato paste, and northern beans and it is a one skillet bit of paradise.
i have to take a shower immediately after i wake up in order to be awake. i am not a morning person AT ALL and have been know to have full conversations with my husband while still asleep.
so if you have been wondering what my husband would look like as a knitted doll... here ya go! ok this came out too damn cute... I DID THAT!! i can't believe it! loving this knitted toys book. (see right column link) next i am going to make payton...well a blonde haired fairy. eventually we will be represented as a family of hand knitted dolls. why you may ask? why the heck not, i say!
back from a fun weekend in MN with cz and all my new friends from scrapbooks too. also met Mitch Kraft...MR. HOF creative soul extraordinaire! so much fun... Tony's Pizza for dinner tonight...whoo hoo!, love that pizza! and tomorrow it is back to scrapbooking...i am energized about it too!
all last night and this morning i have been working on my fonts. not as easy as you might think? ok, not as easy as i might have thought. then if that isn't enough, when i think i have the uppercase, lowercase, numbers, punctuations just as i like it, i decide, "Well what if i...?". need to stop that! should have them finalized tonight. (you were crossing your fingers right?) then i need to get the website ready for them...need to get the designer and the programmer in the starting blocks! hopefully by the end of the month the new art journal class and the 6 new fonts will be ready for download. and hopefully i will not be gray! what am i saying? like i will ever be gray...i color my hair...LOL!! anyway, here is to spring!
bill caught me painting today with camera in hand!! they were such great shots i had to post a couple of them! had a great brainstorming chat with Kal today...she is an absolute inspiration. just talking to her made me get excited to create. been re-reading/page turning through her book too...total inspiration! check it out!
getting ready for this weekend at scrapbooks too in SUNNY MN! i am going to sleep at cathy's for the weekend and take her to the crop with me on friday...she just might show up in classes? who knows!
i know we are going to IKEA and my favorite place dick blick and i am sure there will be an impending podcast in the works already. cathy is going to make my favorite sandwich...it has no name, but she knows what it is and it is so flippin' delicious. she swears food always tastes better when other people make it, but that sandwich says love cathy!
