(first 2 layouts published in simple scrapbooks magazine)
5 years, 5 books, 50+ issues, countless layouts and albums, amazingly talented friends and one hell of an awesome ride later...
the September/October issue is the first issue of simple scrapbooks magazine i have not been a part of in 5 years.
i had made the final decision months ago to make the break from Simple purely because i felt stylistically i changed in a different direction. over the years, my style has become increasingly not so simple and it felt like the right time to explore new avenues of art and play. it just felt organic to move forward than to stay still.
however, when i received this month's issue of Simple i was caught off guard with just how affected i was by not seeing my stuff within the covers. it has been a part of my life for so long, that i had grown to be somewhat comforted by my part in every issue.
then no sooner had i felt this tug at my heartstrings (and i am so not comfortable with emotion) did i receive a package in the mail. a thank you from Simple with a handmade altered dressform and a card signed by the entire simple team thanking me and wishing me well on my new creative journey.
yesterday, i got these in the mail from Cathy...
i couldn't wait to hang them, i am so proud of my work with Simple.
Thank You Simple for 5 years of continued POSSIBILITY!
