It looks like my lovely wife has decided to throw me under the bus with today's blog post. If you listen closely you can actually hear the bus backing up over me...beep. beep. Thank you dear. I love you, mean it!
So I have been thinking about what I could possibly post about. I tried to do a video post but I cant figure out how to upload the video to the website. I'm a little new to the world of blogging. Maybe Donna can help me upload it later.
Since I'm not the creative one in the family, I dont have a project that I can share with everyone. Heck, I cant even adhere a photo to a piece of cardstock! Unfortunately I dont have a "Technique Thursday" I can share with you either. So with that being said, I thought why not share a look into the "World of Bill" and a behind the scenes look at the operations side here at dd llc! Sounds exciting huh? You may want to stop reading now!!!
The first thing you will notice is that I dont have a exciting new studio like Donna. This is actually a pic of our converted dinning room that Kandi and I have made into our offices. It needs some work. As you can see, Tango does like to hang out in here when Donna is traveling. I'm actually thinking of replacing the bulletin board with a flat screen TV on the wall so we can watch Sports Center all day. What do you think? Just a little hint for Santa.
A couple popular questions I always get is, "what do you do and what did you do"? Fair enough. In my former life I worked in Human Resources as a Recruiting Manager for 10 years. I sourced and hired candidates for companies in the Charlotte area. I guess you could say I was a Headhunter or I have even been referred to as a pimp! So now I have become Donna's pimp!!!! How funny is that? You gotta love it.
Actually managing Donna's schedule is one of my main responsibilities. I put together all her store bookings and events for the year. I'm also the person who has her scheduled for that early Saturday morning class after traveling all day on Friday. She is not the morning person. Sorry honey :)
I also do some of the sales, customer service, and PR for the company. I work with our vendors, sponsors, partners, and advertisers. We do have some of the best sponsors and always appreciate all their support. In addition, I manage the financial and budget responsibilities for the company, Donna refers to me as the "Money Guy". I even do some of those tasks that come up that the ladies dont want to do. They like to pass the buck and hope it stops with me. Sometimes I manage to pass it back around!
And of course, we have Kandi here in the office who is the glue that holds everything together. Nothing would get done without her. She manages the warehouse, inventory, accounts receivables, product ordering, and list goes on. I see that she also left me hanging doing this post today. Thanks Kandi.
Another popular question that I get is "do I like working with a bunch of crafting ladies"? The answer is yes! I have met some great, talented, and funny ladies over the years and enjoy every moment of it. However there never seems to be a event that goes by that isnt captured on camera, in a scrapbook or posted on the blog. Even when I dont want it to be! There is a magnet on our refrigerator "If I didnt scrapbook it, it didnt happen" Well let me tell you, nothing is more true than that is this household and probably yours too.
So now that I have wasted the last 3 minutes of your life that you cant get back reading this, I hope you have a great holiday and enjoy spending some time with your families and the special people in your life. Merry Christmas!
Enough from me, how about a giveaway????

All I can say is wow! Look at these amazing photos.
I would like to introduce to you to the very talented photographer, Kathryn Crawford, from Simply Sweet. I came across her work and instantly fell in love with it. Kathryn has been kind enough to giveaway a complementary session to one of my lucky blog readers today? What an amazing christmas gift!
However Kathryn does need to include that the session will need to take place in the LA/OC area and be for a single family group. So if you live in the area or will be traveling to the area, this is a perfect giveaway for the holiday season.
Kathryn is a natural light lifestyle photographer from Southern California. Kathryn and her husband Scott have been married for 13 years and have three great kids. Four years ago Kathryn’s life long love of Art and Photography led her to start her own photography business, Simply Sweet Photography. Photography is a wonderful creative outlet. She loves photographing children and families and has recently added a Senior divison to Simply Sweet Photography. She has really enjoyed photographing these teenagers as they blossom into adults. She aims to capture you and your family as naturally as possible. Kathryn mostly works in and around Southern California, but loves to travel and if there is enough interest in a particular area she is willing to travel.
Here are more samples of her work!!!
