it has been a while!
last night i took a break and worked in my inspiration journal. (to tell you the truth i felt a bit lost without it waiting for it to arrive from the boxes we packed up at CHA). already this page is translating into a canvas design. funny how just releasing one idea into the universe it multiplies and becomes the stepping stone for something else.
heres the how to for this weeks inspiration journal page:
- used layers of white and turquoise acrylic paint for the background
- freehanded the loopy flowers onto book text pages and cut them out
- adhered them to the background using gel medium
- used charcoal pencil to outline the flowers, then a moist paintbrush to blend the charcoal
- hint of pink watercolor in the flower center
- turquoise tape to the right side of the page
- adhered ribbon stems
- a bit of masking tape over the ribbon
- drew in the leaves added green watercolor
- rub on quote (vintage daisy d's from my stash)
- rub on ruler (7gypsies)
- word stickers (vintage EK from my stash)
- prima flower center bling
- watercolored in dark blue around the page edges
- torn shipping tag staples to page edge (just for the brown hole - if you have taken my class you know, lol)
i hope this week you try some of these techniques or feel comfortable linking to something creative you would like to share! we learn best from those around us bouncing ideas!
i also just added some new journals in the shop last week, they go fast so if you are interested in keeping your own visual diary, check 'em out and choose your favorite color first before someone else snatches it!
now back to work on my canvas idea, while bill figures out how to move our entire garage/warehouse full of product to the new office location.
have a good one!
