this weekend i took out one of the 30 x 24" canvas i have had waiting...literally waiting, for me to make time for them. in my head i imagine myself in front of palettes of colors and brushes painting.
but i am all over the place sometimes with my ideas and i just need to stop and listen to my heart. i love the visual release of creating art. i love the stepping back moment and admiring what i've done just as much as the moment in which i create. this weekend i made time. payton and i sat in my studio and created on canvas. we chatted, we shared, we painted.
i decided to step away from this piece, let it resonate and decide where i want it to go next. this is the exact reason for the photo ledge in my studio
it allows me to enjoy and live with a piece for a while, before i decide what to do next.
i have been posting real time work in progress photos over the weekend on my fan page...but here are a couple images of the piece's progress.
the background i did in pan pastels...THEY'RE AWESOME!

after using them i asked kandi to order a bunch of sets for the shop...should be in this week!
colored the large flowers with Golden permanent violet dark (i know, i know purple...i think i like it now)

building the colors and shading in layers.
then had to add some turquoise - Golden turquois (phthalo)
a bit of drippage (YEAH!!), then individually sewed on some yummy seed beads (ok i will admit this took quite a while) i love the way they totally changed the piece and gave it some fun dimension.
not sure when i will come back and work on this one again...maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe 3 months from now and that is okay...
