one of the things i love about inspiration wednesday is that every week i make the time to create...sometimes i am not in the mood at all, but forcing myself to create through the "creative ick" has been really good for me. i learn so much through the process.
one of the things i have always loved is collage...the mixing, matching and blending of colors and patterns to create a larger, bigger image...and it is so easy to do, all you need is a journal, some paper bits and a gluestick!
so every monday i am going to post a new entry in my collage journal.
this is...
an experiment,
a learning tool,
a practice,
and a really fun way to see where just a few bits of paper and the passion to create can take me.
i am hoping to keep the design and supplies used in this journal basic and as hard as it may be i am going to try to keep the pages relatively flat.
my basic tool kit will include:
even though other things may work there way into the designs, like the grey watercolor crayon i used to create the shadow around the word art, my goal is to keep it simple!
i am also envisioning this becoming a really great way to create while traveling using all the bits of paper generated on a trip!
i would love to have you join in the fun on collage mondays!!!!
all you need to start is any notebook or journal you have lying around and just start to play and think creatively about the papers and found objects you might have all around you...
- paper scraps
- scrap papers
- junk mail
- ticket stubs
- merchandise tags
- restaurant placemats
- business cards
- candy wrappers
- box tops
- playing cards
- magazines
- etc...
let the search for the perfect glue stick begin...
i actually love using glue sticks, especially for paper to paper gluing, but they can be really sticky? i want to know about your favorite glue stick and why you love it!
