learning to tangle...

i have started a new moleskine journal for all my zentangle practice. it is a place to document my journey, learn and explore.

i like watching the patterns the lines can produce...

it is simple line art, yet intricate...

i am learning a lot, learning what i like, learning what i don't really like and now have the itch to combine my love of color.

not sure where that will take me...yet!

just playing with new stuff that we got in the studio last week.

the page started with these 2 stamps and butterfly die. i placed them in front of me on my table and went for it

 

i've been really getting into zentangles and exploring new ways to integrate them into my art.

and i think i really like all the white and the contrast to the black.

inspiration wednesday + video

this weeks inspiration wednesday is brought to you by the letter "P"...

this was an idea that i used in my studio for this months Inspiration Wednesday workshop. the basic idea was to divide your page(s) into a grid and bring only the supplies with you that started with a "P". the items that were brought in were just brilliant! one lady even brought "pasta"!

i gave them basic prompts to get them thinking and pulling from their stash  and working in each section. i was so inspired by the ideas generated from this workshop, i had to do it myself!

i think i might randomly choose a letter down the road and try this again!

just got back from the beach, the vacation away with the family was awesome!

And even better, my studio walls floors and room have been fully restored to their original state!!!!

i spent the day in my studio yesterday...i missed it!

i started cleaning out my fabric and paper stash and found this piece of paper i bought at a paper source years ago. i guess i was saving it for that special something and this is it!

i adhered it to the background and started collaging in on top of it with tapes, booktext, punched butterflies, rub-ons and punched playing card numbers.

love this one!

art on the road (ok at the beach)...

at the end of the summer every year we take a family vacation with bills parents and sister. the days are lazy spent on the beach and the pool. this year i brought with me a packed art bag of anything and everything i could fit in it. i brought PanPastels, acrylics, ink, watercolors, journals, artbooards, brushes, pencils, etc. the plan was late afternoon to come up from the beach shower and PLAY!

and i have been!
