for the love of printed tissue paper!

for the base of this page i glued down some preprinted 7gypsies frames tissue paper. then i just began digging in my stash of stamps and stamping a different quote inside each frame...happy place!

i punched a red heart, stamped inside of it and went crazy with the black india ink. the ink takes drippage to a whole new level!

i finished it off with some vintage photo distress ink and i love it!

play with ink in your journal this week, drip it, smear it, splatter it or write with it...just have fun!

last week was my moms birthday and all she wanted was a big canvas piece for behind her sofa.

mind you she has been asking me for years and this year i finally made it happen.

its a lot of pressure to make a big art canvas for your mom!

the piece is 4 ft x 3 ft and the subject matter for a lot of reasons symbolizes the blossoming relationship. the text hidden behind layers of paint is actually the hand written lyrics to "our song" "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", by stevie wonder is the song that my mother sang to me as a child...the song that we danced to at my wedding...the song that if she hears on the radio makes her cry.

i started this page on the plane to oklahoma. i had found this really cool image in a magazine and loved it but didnt want to just adhere it to the blank page. i tore it into strips and glued the strips to the page out of order. then added 1/2" wide making tape between the strips...

i love the way the strips went back together out of sequence. i am definitely going to try this technique again!

added a torn piece of paper, jount tape (holed tape frome lowes hardware), stamp, washi tape and quinacridone magenta airbrush paint.

tear an image out of a magazine and see where it take you today!

whats your number?

recently bill and i downloaded the movie "whats your number?" its a cute romantic comedy that has nothing to do with my post today outside of the fact that i was giggling to myself as i was cleaning out my closet last night and well lets just say my purse + matching wallet number is way above anna faris's number in the movie!

my number is...

thats crazy! i have 34 purses + their matching wallets in my closet and my closet isnt that big!

you know, no matter what size i am i can always fit into a purse...i am drawn too the bold colors, the styles, big ones, little ones, i am an equal opportunity purse lover and quite frankly i cant buy a purse without the matching wallet...the really scary thing, many of them have barely been used!

so in efforts to ween down my number i am listing some of favorite purses on my website today (because i am too lazy to do ebay) and i'm hoping that they find new happy homes!
