i am going to take a small break from blogging until after the new year to be with my family and shut off from the "hustle and bustle" of everyday life. we spend this week every year tucked away in a cabin in the mountains (the 5 of us and the 2 dogs) and just enjoy ourselves.
words cannot express to you how much i appreciate all of you and so look forward to 2013 together! thank you for your support, sharing your stories, your art and most of all your time to stop by and read and share this creative journey with me every week!

just thought i share a little inside look of some of our highlights this christmas...
i have finally cleared my to do list and for the past several days i have been painting...non-stop. not sure how it started really, but NOW i am working on a really bright colorful series of "posies" (as i am calling them). i am just having so much fun working with the color combos and the shading that i cant stop.
just after the new year, bill and i plan to repaint our downstairs and with the clean new look i am REALLY EXCITED to collage these pieces on the wall.
when i complete the series i will most likely list the originals for sale and if they sell i plan to order wrapped canvas reprints to replace them on the wall for myself.
just wanted to share my pure JOY today!

about a year ago someone sent me 3 or 4 roils of this colorful gauze like tape (i am so sorry i forget who you are but you are awesome and thanks again!!). it may have taken me a year but i am finally using it!

i'm still using up all those sheets of alphabets i have, but this weeks pages are a textural HAPPY PLACE!
the background was layered with joint and masking tape before i added the stickers and POPS of color. them i couldnt help but add flowers...this may be a new favorite (it looks even better in person!!)
add texture this week...go overboard and really make a bold statement!
