kept it kinda clean and a bit monochromatic this week but played with a few patterns across the bottom. the butterfly is my new stamp with unity. i just love the butterfly stamped partially off the page. i even dripped with sepia colored india ink...thats a new one for me!

this weeks collage monday was literally created from all the left over bits of scrap, tape and paints on my table and i am quite enamored by how my bits look all composed together! the next time you are cleaning up after a creative mess, consider taking out a journal and making a collage from the debris!

this page started as a big mess and ended in a really HAPPY PLACE!

the background red bird paper is one of those large papers from paper source...(i had it for some time)

i began layering on some gesso, then black india ink and hated it.

i began filling in the ink circle with some small letter stickers and then added an bit of vintage photo distress ink around the stark white edges of the gesso and i really started to feel my groove.

layered in some masking tape and my new favorite tool the "sew stamper"...AWESOME!!!

if you haven't seen this, it is basically a roller stamp that stamps stitches. it has replaceable heads for different styles of stitches, i used the "x" on the page.

it subtle, but my favorite part is the white rub-on wings collaged over the tags and the tape...however that said i am easily amused, lol!

todays collage started with an old spanish page of ephemera. i was drawing off the green when i picked up this piece of websters pages patterned paper, i glued it down and let the collaging begin!!

lots of tapes, vintage postage stamps, tags, a bit of gesso, some happy drops of orange and yellow india ink and a couple more of my new stamps (think i am addicted).

make something matchy-matchy in your journal this week! pullout papers, tags, scraps that coordinate and start layering them onto your page!

seeing red!

this whole page started with that red butterfly...i love these jenni bowlin rub-on butterflies (i secretly hoard these too). i covered the pages in an old ledger page, added lots of red washi tapes and circles of india ink making a fun drippy mess!

i stamped another one of my sentiments stamps, making my mark (hee hee) and finished the edges in black soot distress ink.

the simplicity of this page makes me HAPPY!

this week use one of the supplies you secretly hoard to create a journal page...make it the center of attention and create around it!

a little secret to share...

i have been learning French. i bought an an "almost Rosetta Stone" set of cd's (the set i bought is called Living Language and is about half the price) and have been listening to them everyday for the past month. i dont expect to be fluent in any short time, but i figure the more i practice the more i will retain.

so why french?

i go to Paris at the end of the month.

i travel a lot and so many people i have met around the world speak 2, 3, even 4 languages fluently and i want to be one of them! i want to be able to converse, albeit even remedially with my French friends. i want to order a meal at a restaurant in French and possibly teach with bits of French language to my students without the sole use of the translator.

so this weeks collage monday is a dedication to my French language studies.

do something unexpected this week and document it in your journal...set a goal, try something new, take a risk, be bold!
