i got a little carried away with the watercolors this week but the effect of all the drips and pops of color worked for me in the end. i also love this quote, it is a great reminder to be brave.

this is a perfect example of why you should never give up!

after layers...too many layers of "what if" and "lets see what happens when i" moments finally the page of textured accidents and general "ickyness" came into its own.

i love the embedded layers of color, drips and textures that emerged in the end.

make as many mistakes as you can in your journals this week! take risks and make all the "what if" moments a reality in your art.

love the tone on tone simplicity of this one.

it started with the herringbone tissue paper as the background and i simply isolated a few squares of it with cream paint. some drips and alpha rub-ons to finish it off!

lots of layers in this weeks pages.

tags were layered on the background and painted over with gesso and quinacridone violet. then i layered lots of green washi tapes to create stems and topped the stems off with lots of layers of red, yellow and orange inks and fluid acrylic paints.

i finished the flowers off with lots of quote stamps running the length of the stems and dots of white and black to make flower centers.

got alphabets? USE THEM!

an entire sticker sheet of alphas started this page a layer of gesso on top and then a fun blend of lots of TWINKLING H2O's. i then added a thin layer of gesso on top to bring the alphas back out.

Love the contrast of the black and white quote with the drips of india ink!

use up a whole sheet of sticker letters this week!

i think i am still channelling last weeks mojo!

this started with strips of scrap paper glued to the background and once i painted over the entire background with green, turquoise and magenta i then, purposely closed the book so the paint would smush in between the pages.

once i did that, this is the image that i saw!

i am not even sure how these pages got here, but i think they are bad a$$!

the page somehow started with a piece of striped wrapping paper (you can see hints of it in some of the photos) and alpha stickers and somewhere along the way it became this...holy hell i love it!

why not start with random wrapping paper this week?

the base of this page actually started with the tissue paper that bill wrapped my valentines day gift in (turquoise and red polka-dots). as you can see it is a far cry from where it started, but i kept little bits of the original pattern in there peeking through.

i also have a layer of stickers underneath the top layer of paint, they are subtle but in there and the leaves are collaged in 7gypsies paper tape .

i keep going back to this color combo, it just screams HAPPY to me.

this page was a series of accidents...it started as a really cool paper towel i adhered to the page when i was teaching at Whim so doodle. then, i painted over it and it was so ugly that i painted like 2 more layers over that. then i decided to paint a flower and closed the book before it was dry and the pages stuck together, so i took my paint palette and pressed it to the page and gave it a twist (the turquoise white and gold circle). started dropping some red drips and all of a sudden, JOY!
