so today has been a busy day.
last night me and my neighbors had a few beers in the cul-de-sac...so much fun to be home again!
anyway, that means at 34, even after only 3 beers, i wake up kinda slow.
9 am was mckenna's t-ball game...and ya know what, she rocked it! she made several plays and considering she is the only girl on the team, i was a little more prideful.
i had my new bag that heather my neighbor made me filled of course with snacks and drinks for my other 2 little ones who could care less about their sister playing t-ball and got 3 compliments...that's a happy day!
on that note, heather, my neighbor has asked me to tell you that she has been happily flooded with orders for the cool bags. she is working about a month out with the orders she has taken thus far, so if you still want her to make one for you, just know that it will be @ 4 weeks.
then we went to Michaels...note to self, never go to michaels on a weekend. payton and i decided that today would be "paint the rocks day". see she has been collecting rocks as gifts to me since she has been old enough to walk. she usually comes home with the rock contraband hidden in her sock bands from preschool..gotta love the quirky little love thing going on there. anyway, we have a rock jar that she puts them in and today she decided she wanted to paint them. yeah, she is totally my kid and she ROCKS...LOL!!!
so to michaels we went so she could choose the paint palette for her rocks.
i bought a large glass cylinder to put them in as display when they are dry and all gussied up!
then to burger king.
ever since going to UTAH, mckenna has had this thing for burger king. no more happy meals and kids toys for her, she now gets the tender crisp meal with a sprite...NO TOY? and loves it. of course and hour later after playing on the outside play gym we were on to our next stop.
then, because i NEEDED to, we stopped at "mommy's favorite consignment store" as my girls call it. and this is where the story gets freakin' amazing. look what i scored for $50...yes ONLY $50 for both!
when i was carying them to the front 3 people sighed as i walked by holding them!
well, gotta go check on the rock painting!
Totally amazing kind of day it seems!! Fun and fun and a good buy makes for MORE fun! Cool! I can't wait to see the rocks you 2 paint...should be pretty... enjoy the rest of you Saturday!

Isn't it kind of funny (and at the same time sad) when your kids grow out of the Happy Meal stage? McKenna and my little girl McKenzie are the same age (I think I read where you said McKenna was 5). Anyway, her favorite is Chik-fil-A (or as she says it, Chick-a-lay), and she wants the Chicken Sandwich meal now instead of the kids meal. End of an era I guess. They've grown up too fast, haven't they?
Happy Saturday! Need to start working on my awesome Week 22 project! Love those Sarabinders!

Awesome score! Unfortunately... your favorite store looks to only be on the East Coast. WAAAA.... I am sure we need one somewhere near PDX, OR!!!

And I thought I was the Consignment Queen! I relinquish my crown to you with all my respect and awe. The wicker forms are awesome. What is your plan with them--can't wait to see what your imagination comes up with.

This is totally random, but what color is the wall behind those AWESOME forms? I have searched high and low for just the right shade of khaki/beige and that just might be it.

I just have to tell you that your blog makes me happy. Yeah, beyond the inspiring and empowering scrapbooking part, it just plain old fun to read! It's great to see our scrapping idols are foremost good moms too. btw, I met you at qvc on NSD and at a class in E. Norriton, PA. Not just a blog stalker anymore-- I finally had to say "hi"! Enjoy your lovely rocks!

i am soooo jealous - those are some heavenly bodies you got there!
i so love the way little kids will come up with a gift theme and just run with it --- like your rock collection. And painting them - oh yeah, she's your kid. I have a cabinet that is just the boy's art supplies, and an old suitcase to store their paper in - and they both get a workout. We have been through an origami phase lately, and valentine's day here is pretty involved...
enjoy your rocks!

my daughter brought rocks home too. so cute!

You actually put all that paint in at one time. I usually fill one slot, use it, clean it, another color in a slot, use it, clean it, another color..... You are a brave mom.
Ok..........did the whole thing spill??????

I LOVE those dress forms! I just put on my list the thing I need to get next, creatively speaking of course (the groceries don't count towards this) is a dress form!!... this was after reading the book Where Women Create... totally makes me salivate for one! And I love the TWO you scored! Holy cow... whatcha doing getting all that great karma!?
My daughter collects rocks too!! And we painted a few from her collection last year but we've collected so many since then that we probably should have another painting session! Love it!!

Oh the days of rock painting. That was always a camping thing when our kiddos were little. They'd paint rocks. My little girl even sold rocks, instead of lemonade she sold rocks. lol
Gotta love those consignment finds!

My niece really, really wanted a dress model...and mom & I found two at a vintage shop in Northern Michigan...real, live Vintage dress forms...mom bought her one but decided to keep it for herself! It's gorg!

Those were great finds!!!
I'm so glad to learn that my daughter is not the only child coming home with rocks! When a 1st grader comes home with a heavy school bag you know it's not the homework, but the rocks they have collected at recess. Other items found in school bag, pant pockets and those missed during laundry check which end up in the washer are: acorns, bird feathers, wood chips and more rocks!
Thanks for the idea, a great project for summer! Lets color ROCKS! :-)
