i cut the bottoms of my jeans off to make my own version of long capris this morning...
totally random.
i am also embracing the curly hair this week...aka laziness.
as i uploaded this photo i thought 1) wow i am flexible and 2) what would someone have thought if they saw me posing like this for a web cam?
ok lets keep it out of the gutter and say 3 cheers for my new favorite jeans!!
might have to wear these this weekend!
teaching at the paper playground in Apex NC and me and the family are making it a road trip!
whoo hoo!
as luck would have it there is a Renaissance festival this weekend at the fairgrounds there and bill and the kids always love them when they come here. my girls also desperately want to help me teach a class so if the store allows me i might have a couple of guest assistants.
anyway i did indeed create 3, YES 3 layouts the other day and 2 yesterday!!
feeling inspired!
i think it is the painting...no really i know it sounds corny, but it is awakening a creative itch i must have resisted scratching for a while.
look at the mess i created this morning, isn't it pretty!!
really, i think i love this paintbrush photo!
i want to blow it up and frame it on my wall.
if you have decided to jump on the painting a day bandwagon or want to start today post about it, share a link to your work...lets rile up some inspiration today!
It takes a creative mind to cut your jeans into capris. Brilliant, just brilliant.
And the last photo is definitely worthy of englarging. :)

LOVE THE MESS! Love the paint! LOVE the creativity. Let's get together and just paint, paint, paint, brainstorm and paint. That would be wicked.

I just packed my freshly laundered Donna Downey T-shirt and am getting my other supplies ready to head to Apex myself tomorrow. Can't wait for the workshops!

Ooooh, I agree, blow up that brush photo---or better yet, paint it! From a fella painter---tho my pieces are too big to finish in one day lately.... need to get to work!

I have a personal issue with the capris... but for you is just perfect.. how far can you really stretch though... Being so tall I was had problems finding trousers that would cover (properly) my legs.. so most of my jeans would look like capris anyway.. funny?!now I think really is.. but it suits you especially after the CZielske photo.. now you two look totally relax and informal.Love it! hope you two girls can help as I am sure they would be so proud of their clever mum!
HAve a good weekend Donna!

LOL! Yes..you really are flexable!
Creative messes are the best. They make you feel happy, unlike other household messes that bring out other not so fun emotions. :o)
I would frame the paintbrush picture. It's great! http://jolenegeorge.blogspot.com/

Love the carpris, love the painting mess! I also love the idea of a painting everyday. Very intriguing. Just curious -- what will you do with your paintings now that you'll have so many??? I think if I were to do this, I would make my canvases very small, maybe 6x6 (inches!) and put them in sleeves in a mini album, then take one out for a rotating easel display.

I just love the curly hair. If it is easy and if it looks good, go for it girl. You should wear it that way more often.

I agree with you. I love pictures of messy spaces from painting. My brother-in-law is an artist. He mostly paints and when I was over at his house a year ago or so I took a picture of his used up plywood board that he mixes paint on. It was pretty. All of those colors and textures. It was awesome! I like that just as much as his paintings and by that I don't mean his paintings are bad, they most definitely are not, I just mean it's pretty in it's own way. Just thought I'd add a comment.

I agree with others...I think it would be fun to have the girls as helpers...but I am a kid at heart...I like them much more than adults!

Please tell me it's scares you how many of your obsessive scrapfans have used the word "love" when all you did was make one big fucking mess.

Donna,
I had to cancel my 2 classes that I signed up for at Paper Playground on Saturday. My grandmother ( my last grandparent was still living ) died Easter weekend so we are off to Boone for the funeral. I hope that I can get a refund for your classes. I was so looking forward to seeing ALL of you there in Apex.
Awesome "capris"!!!!
You get so inspired to look at things differently in life.
You go, Girl!!!

I'm going to be visiting my aunt and uncle in Holly Springs the last weekend of this month and was so excited to see that there is a scrapbook store so close to them in Apex! I wish I was going the same weekend as you, I would love to take one of your classes.

Pyscho scrappers' mantra: "I love the mess!" "I love the capris!" Unless you are buying something, she doesn't care.
Posted by: suzy | April 13, 2007 at 12:22 PM
You should definitely enlarge and frame that paintbrush photo!
Posted by: Mindy M. | April 13, 2007 at 12:35 PM
I love that paintbrush photo, too! You should absolutely put it up. You and Elsie have me looking forward to painting again soon. I'm going to create something for my son Camden's room though.

What an opportunity for you and your family with this scrapbooking industry. Did you ever think it would be all that it has been for you? And now with your husband working for you and all. HA! It's been cool to see you progress too.. your art is so inspiring! Have a *wonderful* trip with your kiddos!

Great inspirations! Love your painting colors, very spring.
I just did almost the same thing as you, I cut my jean dress, made a little smock from it. I did some paintings and had lots of fun. Take a look:
