still playing in my office i have about 6 canvas i have been working on in different stages of experimentation.
sometimes i just need this break from serious stuff.
time to creatively catch up with the ideas in my head.
this is a short week for me because tomorrow i am back out on the road.
Vancouver this weekend!!
so excited!
on the weigh-in home front,
today i weighed in at 159.
still bouncing back in forth between 162-158
i have not gotten lower than 158.
and i have been at this weight for 2.5 months.
i watched the biggest loser last night and it always fires me up!
i have started training for a 10k.
every Tuesday and Thursday pm we have a small group and a trainer that works us trains us.
i am really loving this running thing,
not because i am good at it by any means,
but because it is a game one on one with my body.
and i can see and FEEL the difference.
so what am i saying,
i am the poster child for plateauing....
no but if you are at the point where your getting discouraged about seeing results, hang in there.
bitch, moan gripe, hell we can do that together!
but don't give up!
OK as i kick over the soap box,
i want to remind you to send in your submissions for the October newsletter...
i will be working on the newsletter this weekend and would like to collect as many of your ideas as i can.
here's the challenge reminder from the September newsletter...
Ok,
so your challenge over the next 30 days is to take out those circle
punches; big ones, small ones, scalloped ones and any old circle
stencil you can find and recycle all things circle-able into art!
here is a list of ideas just in case you want to experiment...
- cereal boxes as chipboard: paint it, emboss it, cover it with paper
- plastic packaging as cellophane windows
- candy wrappers for a Halloween layout (OK that's a good one for next month!)
- newspaper as patterned paper circles
- old magazines
- catalogs (ooh, this might make a good color study too!)
- school art projects and papers
- YOUR SCRAPS!!
If you're up to the challenge, email your trash to treasure pictures to [email protected] by September 25th and write "CIRCLES" in the subject line and you just might find your work may be featured in the next Creative Playground newsletter.
Hi Donna, have a great time in Vancouver and hug a tree for me (I use to live in that area and now live in arizona)! michelle

Hey Donna...I think it is great that you are running and you inspired me to get in gear and start exercising. I signed up for a boot camp and am on week 3! I hate to run too but like you said it is a game and I can definitely feel the difference in just 3 1/2 weeks!!! Thanks for your inspiration. Cool challenge on the circles, I'll have to see if I can come up with something.

I am also fighting that darn flat area of just staying at the same weight! What is up with that.
I have a special suprize for you...check my blog to see it!
Keep running!

I had forgotten about the challenge. I have a huge pile of kindergarden homework from my son. I was going to keep one or two and toss the rest. I think I'll grab my circle punch and start punching. What a great background that will make. Thanks for the reminder.
On the weight front, YUK! You've inspired me to start focusing on the health of my body. I'm walking every morning again, and making wiser food choices. I've only lost a few pounds, but I keep reminding myself baby steps, and it's the trend that matters.

oooh..plateauing. I'm so there with you. I lost 15 pounds and want to lose....40 more. But have plateaued. I am actually not minding it (gasp?!) because I'm seeing it as my body's way of adjusting to a new "number" (I don't use "weight"...I just have numbers...because it's just a number - it doesn't define who I am. thank goodness!)
anyway - for me, a plateau is my body settling in at a lower number than I was at before... almost tricking my body into thinking "ahh..yes...this is better than that high number"...
I'll make some adjustments soon - in the right time -and perhaps the numbers will begin to go down again and stabilize/plateau at another lower number.
so HANG IN THERE! You look AMAZING! Your body will go to a lower number when it's the right time.... that's my thought on it!

Will power and determination! Keep at it!

I've been meaning to train for a 5k or 10k. I'm only slightly motivated though.
As for the challenge, did you mean Oct. 25 as opposed to tomorrow, Sept. 25 ... just curious. I got circles ready for action! ;-)

I'd take 162 right about now - 7 months after baby and I can't shake this last 20 lbs. Argh!

I made a circle themed layout with old cereal bar boxes. Its called Thrifty - I put it up on my blog if you want to take a look.
