i have always loved words,
the shapes,
fonts,
how they look in books
and the visual exercise they give the mind.
words have meaning, emotion, they tell stories, document life and (my favorite part) create visual texture.
i decorate my home with them, cut them out of magazines, books, newspapers and have often been known to photograph words on signs, advertising and buildings.
wearable words are a must!
a visual reminder of how i want to live.
when times get tough, i instinctually clutch the charms around my neck or twist the ring on my finger.
a gentle and constant reminder of my voice.
i asked lisa leonard to design a special piece for this years Inspired. event.
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PIECE and i can't wait to get them for inspired.
not only do i love its continuous circular message, but the fabulous turquoise charm in the center rocks my world.
i am over the moon!
LISA you are an Amazing artist and i cannot thank you enough!
A while back i posted a picture of my ring. I wear this band everyday!
several of you wanted to know where i got it and i couldn't find the link.
well i found it! i got it here.
i also had to share this artist with you. His name is John Clark and he makes these beautiful black pen drawings onto book pages. i love how the words and sentiments emerge from the pages beneath and into his artwork. i bought this print and am contemplating making a grouping of 3 of them (i just can decide on which other 2). This is textual happiness for me!
as a lover of words, i also have collected more than my share of single word and sentiment stamps as well. i have them displayed about my studio again as reminders of who i am, who i want to be, and who i can be. I enjoy looking at them and try to incorporate my favorites in almost everything i do and i am constantly seeking stamp companies that do "words" well. Catslife Press is by far my favorite.
Tomorrow i am going to be giving some Catslife Press stamps away in celebration of the words that remind us to be creative in our life...so be here tomorrow!
EDITED: the necklaces will first be made available at inspired. and those remaining after the event will be available through my website. if the response is great enough i will place an additional order with lisa and make them available in the shop.
Catslife Press is my favorite too!
Love the necklace!

Hello. I was wondering if the inspired necklace you had desinged will also be for sale on Lisa's website. I went on their earlier (as this necklace would be a true blessing of a gift for my best friend) and I could not find it. My friend...she has also been an inspiration in life as well as my children's and I thought this necklace would be a perfect way to honor her everyday.
Thank you for all your continued inspirations you give us all daily...it is just wonderful!

The necklace is beautiful...can't wait to get one! I also love words and decorate my home with them as well. I also love magazines and decided to decorate the back sides of my "magazine" holders with quotes. If you are inspired then check out my "studio 2" photo album on my blog and you can see the craft colored magazine holders with these words and quotes. I got my vinyl quotes from "wall words". Have a great day!

I loved your post today. I'm very into words and sayings, I collect them...surround myself with them...write them down whenever I see something that inspires or calls to me. It's nice to see I'm not alone in things others sometimes consider "quirky".
The links are wonderful, I had to check every one out and I am now in love with the Catslife press stamps. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
The necklace is beautiful, by the way.
Thank you for being an inspiration as well!

Donna, I absolutely love the idea that you have a piece of jewelry commissioned for the event. I wear the one I purchased last year almost every day and I look forward to purchasing this one :)
Is it May yet???

Lovin' that necklace. Any possibility of doing a "pre-order" for this - I know they'll sell like hotcakes!
Posted by: SusanC | February 25, 2009 at 12:53 PM
Donna,
I love the necklace!!!! It would be great to have this available to purchase in your shop for your inspired fans, who can't make it to the Inspired Event this year. :(
Can it be a pre-ordered item before the Inspired Event?
Is it be possible????
Posted by: Camille | February 25, 2009 at 02:05 PM
Lisa does it again! I love her work too. I own 2 necklaces from her. One, the Inspired from last year & the small circles monogrammed one. Love that ring, too, thanks for posting the link! Oh yeah, let me know if/when you need help with Inspired pre set up & such, "next town over neighbor"! Bill should still have my contact info from last year + for this year's event.
