i will be honest with you i am not quite sure which one i like more.
i am thrilled with the way they both turned out.
and the fact that this apron idea could be totally customizable is, to be honest with you, way more than a bit intriguing. gets my wheels spinning on the possibilities!
i love the idea of these being a skirt!
that was an awesome idea by several of you!
i will have to ponder the whole canvas skirt idea...totally has potential. the words on the aprons make me so happy!!
bill and i are getting ready for the drive up to PA today to teach at Grove's Office Supply & Scrapbooking to a full house of workshops this weekend! WHoo hoo ladies here we come, road trip
Donna - this has inspired my 72 year old mother to dust of my sewing machine and give it a go! hopefully i can share some inspo soon! can you tell me your technique for the words you've added? this is GORGEOUS!

I am just in awe! Both aprons are just stunningly gorgeous! Are you using an apron pattern for the backs or is this totally 'off the cuff'? The folded/wrinkled fabrics are just so pretty. Oooh I'm so inspired and just need to find all the stuff I know I have so I can play!

I just LOVE both of these aprons Donna! They're fabulous! I still like the idea of them being skirts. I haven't worn a skirt in years, but I'd change my tune if it looked like one of these beauties!

I love the way the turquoise pops up on the neutral background, such a skirt will most certainly be awesome!

Donna,
I love the second apron! Let me know when you start selling these beauties! Wink!
I'm ready to buy one!

Ich liebe diese Schürzen. Really Donna, these aprons are sooo beautiful. I am sitting at my desk, my nose 2"away from the screen trying to figure out how you made this wonderful piece of everydayuseable art.

Posted by: Janice | June 18, 2009 at 08:10 AM
You need to make skirts using this same idea!! I would never want to use as an apron in case it got stained.
Posted by: Gale | June 18, 2009 at 08:35 AM
Absolutely beautiful! It never fails to amaze me the different ways you can transform the ordinary into something special. Love love love these aprons! (And they would definitely be cute as skirts!)

Hi Donna. I love the second apron the best with the sprinkling of color and the ruffle on the bottom. Two totally different looks. I would hesitate to wear it for painting or inking though. Have a safe trip. We've had non-stop rain up here for the last 10 days.

There's a darling book called A is for Apron that has great ideas for basic and not-so basic designs. My 10 yo and I will be working on several over the summer for her to wear to school in the fall as part of her "fashion statement" ...I have three more girls after her, I have a feeling we'll be making a LOT.
Posted by: Brandi | June 21, 2009 at 12:20 AM
This is just so absolutely STUNNING!! I would re-design my entire kitchen to match this if I owned it. Honest to goodness it's amazing.
