EDITED++
congratulations jennifer b...YOU WIN!! email me ([email protected]) with your address and your new binderie will be on its way!
for those of you that emailed me about where to buy the binderie, here is a link!
i got an email from Janelle at 7Gypsies week ago asking me if i would be interested in altering a binderie.
thought it would be fun.
i underestimated how much i like a challenge.
i painted this little guy like 4 times.
first with gesso,
then green and hated it,
then changed my mind and painted the top only to dark turquoise,
then finally found a happy place with the lighter turquoise.
the little 1/2 wooden pot i picked up at michaels and painted it to look like terra cotta.
filled the pot with moss
and wrapped wire until it resembled something close to a flower.
riffled through my stash of rub-ons (god i love rub-ons).
added some text and
believe it or not i added some bling (so not a familiar place for me, check them out my 3 lonely pearl position markers, hee hee!)
you may ask, why alter the binderie?
i kinda did,
but now the somewhat ordinary and office supply looking machine is not only functional, but fits in rather nicely with the decor of my studio.
and do you know what i found out playing with it...?
the dang thing punches through canvas "like butta".
LOVING THAT!
and i wouldn't want to punch holes in canvas alone...
so 7gypsies has decided to giveaway a binderie machine today for one of you to alter (or not alter) so that you can punch your little hearts out too!
leave your binderie comment today by 10PM EST to be entered to win.
and stick around because tomorrow i am going to post some snapshots of some of the pieces i have been working on in my studio..
I saw the other altered binderies, but yours is the prettiest! So, so cute! You are so creative...

Ooh your version looks so cool! I've enjoyed seeing what all the "celebrity" scrapbookers are coming up with the binderies, (love that word!)
I'm looking for something that can punch neat holes in fabric for my mini albums and the binderie looks like it would be up to the task. Thank you!!!

Posted by: Bianca G. | June 10, 2009 at 08:54 AM
That is so freaking cute! You did a great job with it!
Posted by: Jennifer M. | June 10, 2009 at 08:55 AM
You have to love it when "pretty" meets function! :) So many "functional" things aren't very pretty and we have to find a place to "hide" them when they aren't in use. This is a great way to take something functional and make it a work of art all on it's own! :) GREAT JOB!
Posted by: Tami | June 10, 2009 at 08:59 AM
my little heart would love to be punched out! I would alter it, love how you have the little pot and flower on yours.
