I FINISHED!! i saw this apron in my head exactly the way it looks.
i worked feverishly on it yesterday and today because i just couldn't wait to see it finished.
i sketched it out, but the idea was vivid in my head and i made it... may sound silly, but i am shocked, elated, inspired, and ecstatic!
like jumping out of my skin ecstatic!
even learned how to make french knots yesterday (i had no idea they were that easy)
i am loving the raw canvas embroidered bird on the pocket and the lace, did you see the lace piece i was coveting...isn't this lace magnificent. Thank you dawn for sharing it with me, it is the perfect compliment to this piece.
i called my mom to tell her about it and she came right over to see..we shared a moment. it was awesome!
so it may sound boastful (hell, i know it does), but i am just so flippin' excited about my new apron. i am going to try and make a couple versions of this playing around with more patterned fabrics and trims. i am hoping to teach this as an all day workshop (at least that was how the idea started). as i work on the other apron samples i will share the results...but right now my head is reeling over all the possibilities...like holiday presents and gift ideas.
ok i gotta stop i have company coming over for a fun bar-b-que, but i had to share.
now i have to clean up the mess that was left in the aftermath!
week 4: day 27 - 4 mile run
- time: 42 min 05 sec
- distance: 4.04 miles
check out that dip in the run...that's where my hands knocked the safety clip out of the machine while i was running. i swear to you the treadmill will be the death of me, lol!
Donna, you are amazing. You are who I want to be! I often find myself full of creative ideas and do not act on them. You are inspiring me to just jump in with both feet. Absolutely the most beautiful apron I have ever seen.

First, apron is truly a beautiful work of art!
Second, be care on those treadmills! Our 14 yr old was running on ours in December and tried to: answer the phone, stop the treadmill and pause her ipod.... which all caused her to fall and get really banged up! Broke her glasses, scratched her hand, knee and shoulder-she hasn't gotten on it since from fear! Just be careful! :))
Awesome running!!! I'm impressed at your dedication!

Congrats on another 4 mile run! I got sidelined -- a 2 miler did me in. :( Taking a few days off to rest and recover. My left ankle doesn't like running.

And I know French Knots are supposed to be easy, but I just can't make them work out. They just unravel on me. Maybe you could do a tutorial?
