after the success of the first apron i had to try modifying the design and using different fabrics and by adding more color (not a lot) enough to distinguish itself from the first.
not finished with the second apron, but man am i happy with it so far.
i have to attach the waistband still and add a few more little touches, i am hoping to finish it this week!
(who am i kidding i will probably work through the night to finish it i am so excited!)
Also wanted to give a shout out to all my Aussie friends!
I have been working with Blue Bazaar to host our first "NON-event EVENT"!, LOL!
i get so many inquiries asking when i am coming back to australia, (I would come back in a heartbeat by the way!) but the economy and the high cost of travel down under makes the logistics a bit overwhelming.
so Blue Bazaar and i have teamed up to bring my workshop classes to you, helps save the expenses of travel as well as the crazy shipping costs!!
they are now taking NON-event EVENT pre-orders for all my workshop classes, so if you are interested and live down under check them out!
"OZZIE, OZZIE, OZZIE!"
week 45: day 29 - 4 mile run
- time: 42 min 44 sec
- distance: 4.07 miles
i have gotten a few questions about how i am tracking my runs. i use the nike ipod sensor that works right with my itunes account. because i do not run in nike'e i run with a small silicon pouch on my laces that holds the sensor and records my runs.
i have some of my favorite running items listed here on my sidebar if you want to find out more.
I love your apron #1, but apron #2 is going to definitely be a true contender! Isn't it fun when you get so into creating something new, fresh from your brain:)

Ok, I was jealous yesterday. Today...well, let's just say I am over the top. WoW!!! You are amazing. I love both of the apron designs. I saw that little sneak peek of Farmers Market fabric you've got going on there...way cute! Your hand work on the embroidery, the journaling and the cute flower designs are simply georgeous. YOU ARE an INSPIRATION!!!

Lovely! I have a question. I do not sew but I have been really inspired by your work to try. Can you recommend a sewing machine for someone new to sewing and who wants to do basic crafty things? I want to make certain it can do both fabric and paper. Thanks Donna. Your work is helping me to go way beyond my comfort zone and into new realms of creativity. Blessings, Bonnie

I just have to leave a comment to tell you how beautiful your aprons are!! The mix between the raw canvas and the delicate embroided flowers and details is just perfect!

Saw your blog at about 5am and was so 'wowwed' by your gorgeous apron that I hurridly began going through my stash and found canvas, fabric with some old rose design on, various ribbons, old lace I need to tea dye, twill, flowers, embroidery floss, buttons... and now have a full kit for an apron that I'm taking on a plane to make for a friend for her birthday this summer. It'll be all faded reds and creams. Thanks so much for the inspiration! I can't wait to sew it!!!
