this weeks inspiration wednesday was inspired by the amazing israeli woman i met teaching workshops in israel 2 weeks ago and the small snippets of the hebrew language i acquired.
if you saw last weeks inspiration wednesday page it featured the start of a tradition, the word "inspired" or derivative of the word written on my arm in that countries characters. i love words and the characters that make up other languages are just as beautiful to me. the journal features my first written hebrew word. the language is written from right to left and it means "inspiration".
those of us non hebrew speaking people would probably not know that i adhered the hebrew book text to the journal page upside down. however, i think it just adds to the charm, lol!
the page was fairly simple and was created in the studios we taught in in tel aviv.
- i adhered the book text to the gessoed page.
- then layered on a couple layers of watered down white, turquoise and yellow acrylic paint
- found the scrap of turquoise cardstock sitting next to me and adhered it to the page.
- cut the word always from a book and adhered it in place
- then wrote the hebrew and english version of the word in sharpie
what did you create this week?
what do we need to see...share your inspirations!

Just noticed this morning that you are going to be teaching in WI in September and it is only 1 hour away from me. I called the store when they opened and signed up for both classes. They are close to being filled but I sneaked it before they filled up. I am so excited!! I am so looking forward to taking a class from you.

Nice artwork! Very unique...
I had signed up for one of your Saturday classes here in Columbia. Just found out it had to be cancelled :( I was so looking forward to the "bloom" class. Hopefully next time more people will sign up so you can have the class. I understand that you can't teach to just a few. Hope you have a good time teaching the other classes and enjoy Columbia :)
Take care...

I love this tradition, looking forward to see more languages in the future :-)
I think that it's great that you have the Hebrew page upside down, it adds character to it as if saying that it doesn't matter if you speak the language or not, inspiration is above all languages :-)
I think I'm going to create a journal for myself, I never created one before but I'm feeling inspired! :-)
