i would love to say that this weeks inspiration wednesday came from some deep emotional place, but the truth is i just started playing with the items on my table and this happened.
i happened to have eckhart tolle's "the power of now" out on my table, randomly opened it and tore out 3 pages. the quote text is simple cut from the lines that spoke to me.
the best part is that while i was creating this, my girls came in and wanted to do an inspiration wednesday page. i will post theirs later today, but payton was sitting next to me and plainly sais, " and she grew up to be an artist". now that was deep!
so that had to be part of the page.
here's the how to in my inspiration journal this week.
- painted the page green with a wash of white acrylic paint
- "dressed" the dressform in lace, flowers and ribbon and inked the base brown.
- adhered book text strips
- stamped
- added rub on frame
- wrote paytons quote and inked the edges
and speaking of inspiration, look what bill and i did
what did you create this week?what do we need to see...leave a post and share your inspirations!
Looks awesome and great tats!

How could you tore out three pages out of this wonderful book? I never could do that... even if the words would speak better on a artwork.

I know that one reply here is totally shocked that you tore pages out of Tolle's book----but I think that is a fab idea: to extract the bits that meant the most!! I don't know what you do with these collages you make but if it goes on your wall for a bit, that's so much better than leaving those ideas 'locked up' in a book you may not re-read.

I love this page, it has such a girly, romantic feel to it with a presence. The wording is awesome, great idea to add payton's sentance!
This week I wrote a post in my blog titled "a leader through the eyes of a highschool student". My son in majoring in art in highschool and a few weeks ago
he was cleaning up and wanted to throw away old notebooks. Luckily I managed to save them and scanned the first page of each.
The titles are in Hebrew but I'm sure you'll be able to recognize History, Math and English, the rest are Literature, Art, traffic (we have those...) and the last one is his civics notebook and that gave me the title for the whole post.
It's not something I created, highschool kids did, they inspire me so I wanted to share it with you to.
