simply irRESISTible
workshop in resist techniques : workshop duration 3 hours
Robert palmer said it best, but beyond the dancing girls in the background and the 1980’s reference, this class is all about RESIST techniques! You will learn and design a sampler style visual handbook as you create and experiment with 10 distinctly different resist techniques, using paints, wax, inks, glues, matte medium, crackles and UTEE. Learn how and when to use the products you already have in your scrap supplies at home to create additional layers of dimension and texture to your scrapbooking, cardmaking, and artistic style. Using your newly created sampler handbook as your guide, the class culminates with the creation of a one of a kind and unique art piece that you create applying the techniques learned in the workshop!
apronologymixed media wearable art apron : workshop duration 5 hours
Ever wondered what if? Apronology is just that! With a love for canvas and color and texture I sat down and began assembling a what if idea. What if I made an apron out of canvas? What would it look like? A beautiful blend of function and style this apron takes the stiff texture of canvas and blends it with the soft sheerness of muslin to create an artistically feminine piece of wearable artwork. This workshop is designed to teach you the basics of “craft-sewing” by creating dimensional ribbon flowers, gathered skirts, embroidery design, layered trims, assembly and the imperfect pucker! What if you walked into a room wearing this? Gotcha thinking? Imagine the look on your loved ones face when they opened this amazing hand crafted gift…you’re not going to want to miss this workshop!
“other than a basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine, no prior sewing skills needed!"
pressed for success6 x 6” vinyl and canvas album : workshop duration 3 hours
Take the next step in fabric scrapbooking and create an album that blends transparencies with fabric pages that pop with texture and dimension as we work with my new line of iron-on designs, quilted sentiments and shapes. Learn techniques for applying concepts to both fabric and paper as well as distressing canvas using inks and watercolors.
Love your video! LOL! I agree about running, you have to keep doing it once you start or it takes you forever to get back to where you were! I love the new workshops added to 2010! I so hope you come close to Oklahoma so I can take them and see you again! ;) Have a great week!

Thank you for "random blatherings" I missed them so, and also for having hair like mine (which is why I keep it long, so I can pull it back, or it would take over my head on damp days). Perhaps you will have a class in Michigan?

I am "one-of-those-people" too with the chihuahua. Just embrace it! They are awesome!!! Paisley is a doll! Before long you will be buying "special purses" (a.k.a. couture dog bags) just so she can go along with you in style. I know, it's hard to believe we are falling into a stereotype but all the people making comments about us...JUST DON'T KNOW. LOL Thrilled you got a chi!

Loved your video! I have been procrasting about getting on the treadmill again. It is so HARD to get back into it again. Why is it that we as women hate our hair? I have completely straight hair and to me, it looks so stringy all the time. LOL. I have been bidding on teal typewriters on ebay and have yet to win one so you will have to share your strategies!!
Posted by: Jewel | October 13, 2009 at 10:01 AM
i'd be happy to take one of them thar typewriters off your hands... you know how to reach me. bring it to berzkeley when you come!! hahaha!!!
