Rented a car today to relocate to Frankfurt. Was able to rebook our flight out of London to frankfurt.
Still the airspace is restricted. No passenger flights coming or going.
Confirmed on a flight out of Frankfurt Friday at the earliest. I want to come home.
OMG this has to be so hard for you! I am so happy you are not alone so I guess hold onto that thought and this is just temporary and that you both are okay and the kids are in good hands. This will be just a crazy story to tell someday even if thats not what it feels like now. And know that your amazing gift is missed by all of us and we just want you home safe! xoxoxo

I have a friend who has been out from the UK on holiday with her family and was due to fly back today and the earliest flight she will get back from SA / UK is on the 2/5/10 if she is lucky.

Sometimes it is difficult to read the tone of the writer in an email but to me you have never seemed this bummed out...not that i blame you! I have thought about you and Bill everyday and can only imagine your frustration. I am glad to hear you finally have a return flight. I look forward to your safe return. xo

Hey Donna,

Did you know that flights are getting out of Madrid? I have seen it on the news that lots of people are traveling there to get flights home.
Something to think about or maybe check into the validity of.

This has to be so hard. Your poor kids probably won't let you go on vacation alone again :) I hope you and your hubbie can get home soon .. hopefully by the 28th for the Prima bag video .. I have my bag, now I need you to show me what to do with it .. LOL. Best of luck and try to make the best of it.

So sorry that the trip to Germany ends so badly! I'm from Germany and I heard that passengers to Asian and the U.S. will be able to fly home first! In Austria the airlines are already flying... I keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Oooooh Hope you get home soon. xxx

Oh no Donna, how awful for you, hope you manage to get a flight soon. It's been so strange here in the UK - I stayed at my parents house last week and they live pretty close to an airport so we're used to hearing and seeing planes overhead there all the time, really weird that there is nothing at all. We've got a lot of friends who are stranded having gone away for the Easter break, none of them sure when they'll get home either, so frustrating. Shame you weren't stranded in London, you'd have been very welcome to stay with us :)

{{HUGS}}
So terrible you are still stranded.
I heard that Newfoundland, Canada had their flights cancelled due to it also today.
Hope you get home soon.

:( My husband just arrived at a conference where most of the speakers were coming from Europe. He thinks it will be a washout. And no one knows if this thing will keep doing this off and on throughout the year! What a mess!

This sucks! You're fine, the kids are fine, it could be worse, blah, blah, blah. It just sucks, and I'm sorry you can't get home. I'm glad you're going to Frankfurt so you can see a new city at least. Beware the abundance of adult entertainment in Frankfurt! (Don't ask me how I know this. lol) The airport has live adult entertainment also. There are some great places to see in the Frankfurt area, so at least you'll find something to occupy your time. Keep smiling.

That is sad that you can't get back to see your family but make the most of it and do some sight seeing. I know plenty of people that will probably never get the chance to go overseas. You are they, enjoy every moment!

Good Luck. Travel safe and hope you get back home soon!

Hard as it is, try to make lemonade out of your lemons. Wander the town, find some inspiration for your artistic endeavors. There has to be a silver lining to this volcanic cloud :)

Why don't you inform if you can fly from Amsterdam? Its about the same distance ride and the Dutch airspace is open again! Maybe that can make you fly home sooner?!
Good luck in coming home soon and save!

Oh Donna,
why didn't you come to visit me :-)
If I would have read that earlier, I could give you a tour through beautiful bavaria (You remember the German girl in Tuscany???).
Hm, but now I keep my fingers crossed for you, that you get an early flight back home and I hope to see you again in October!!!
Many greetings, Susanne

A day or two, fine, you can keep your chins up and amuse yourselves. After that, I know how difficult it must be and I'm so sorry you're not able to get home fast enough. Prayers and crossed fingers. I know that happy reunion with your kids can't come fast enough!

Hi Donna,

I am looking forward to october!
Have a good and save flight- take some Brezel with you - and be sure: beer ist waiting for you :)
I send you a big
KNUDDEL
