This is fantastic!! and actually this past weekend I made and started my own inspiration journal because I was inspired by you!! I decided it would be a great way to express my thoughts, creativity and ME out on paper and I can be messy about it and it doesn't have to be perfect... just like me! Messy & not perfect but in love with creating!

Ok, I just love you!!! Having the boy do a random call out, (Totally heard him) and blaming the dog hair for an error. Can I do that without owning a dog? I find you just as entertaining as I find your art beautiful and inspiring. I LOVE this idea and I love that you list out everything you use. I think I am going to go back and watch all the videos I missed and copy and paste your supply list into a Christmas list to give my hubby and kids.
Thanks again for being FABULOUS!!!
Have a safe trip and a great CHA!

Hi Donna. I really love your inspiration journal. I love the idea of making a statement and celebrating something about yourself right there smack dab at the front. The image transfer rocks! I have always wanted to try it but also only have an inkjet printer. Thanks for the great tip and inspiration.

Love how natural your process is, you just go with your inspiration and have fun with it no matter what happens! Very cool! Love the colors on the page and it's such a fabulous idea for the beginning page of a journal - I will definitely have to follow in your footsteps :) I really love those white pen scribbles too, lovely texture!

Sadly I had no idea what to do with the inspiration journals you sell until your class at Inspired. Then I felt like, duh. So simple. I've been crazy busy since Inspired, but tonight I will work in my journal for the first time since the class. Thanks for always reminding that I am an artist.

You have been so inspiring me to start an art journal of my own. I used to keep a drawing journal...way back when. I am going to nosy around your blog & site. I love how your pages hold up to all that water. Hope your kids have fun in NJ - it has been perfect beach weather here at the shore =)

I LOVE your declaration that you are, in fact, an artist. I made a similar one in my art journal, and a friend turned it into a 2'x3' canvas. It hangs over my desk and is one of my most loved pieces. Thanks for sharing yours. My big canvas can be seen here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ovqcoprW_BM/TAPv8w8D3JI/AAAAAAAAApw/SeM3KI8FRN4/s1600/011_edited-1.JPG
Thanks for the little "I am an artist" reminder. I needed it today. You rock!

Hi Donna. I am so excited to see this journal from the beginning. I bought all the supplies to start my very first inspiration journal. I even bought your book at Barnes & Noble. :) I'm a little nervous about it, but I'm ready to start on this new journey. I feel like inspiration journaling is so much more freeing than scrapbooking. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos and your amazing inspiration. Take care, Jenny :)

I love your inspiration Wednesdays. It is like free therapy! Not to mention all the creative yummies you share. Thank you!
On image transfer- I noticed the sponge brush application left brush marks on the image transfer. It almost looks like the image was penciled on. Love that.
Have safe travels. Bring back some CHA goodies.

Sarrah and I will be plopped in front of the computer watching this video today. We were eating breakfast at Toast this morning and decided to make the fabric flowers from last week's Inspiration Wednesday out of our straw wrappers with surprisingly satisfying results. Thanks for that ongoing jolt to our creativity. We're looking forward to our next Wednesday at the studio!

I am TOTALLY going to do something like this on my first page though! And, thanks for the inkjet image transfer instructions...have been trying to get that to work for years!

Hi Donna, i love your inspirations and have been painting on my layouts lately. It's so FUN. I can't help but feel a bit anxious about not having my own 'style' but I guess that comes eventually. Debbie :-)

I so love watching your videos. I love that you just go with what strikes you and make things up as you go :o) You're so inspiring!

My daughter (age 9) always says "Mom, you're such a good artist" whether I scrapbook a layout, make a card, do a page in my inspiration journal or whatever. We can compare ourselves and think "I'm not as good as..." but really if you create and you enjoy it then that's all that matters. If your loved ones enjoy it then it just makes it even better.
Posted by: TracyBzz | July 22, 2010 at 12:54 AM
Doing this right now in my art journal! I've water colored painted for years but was always hesitant to say "I'm an artist" just recently I've started replying when asked what I do I say I'm a mom, an artist, bird lover. The best thing about kids is that they think you are great! When my kids ask me to draw them things so they can paint or color them they always tell me that I'm the best artist in the world--they're only 4 but they have good taste! I've enjoyed "lurking" with you on your creative journey since the days of Simple. Congratulations on all you are accomplishing! You are inspiring!
Posted by: Emily | July 22, 2010 at 01:00 AM
Darn!! This will have to be page 2 because I already did pages 1 and last page in my new inspirational journal. But this would make a great canvas sign/artwork to hang on the wall in my craft room. Light bulb!
Posted by: Heidi | July 22, 2010 at 01:05 AM
Donna - I've never really considered myself an artist... It's so nice to see it written out and making a statement like you have in your journal. I really think I need to start one of these. You are such an.... inspiration! I can't wait to try photo transfer! I am going to run out and by that transfer paper tomorrow. I hope you do more of it! I love the look.
Posted by: Colleen Sheehy | July 22, 2010 at 02:43 AM
I always watch your inspirational videos. And guess what... it inspires me :D
I tried the transfer technique not with photos but with words printed on paper and then rubbed off with water. That works, too. But I´ll try the transparency for cleaning reasons *hehe*
Posted by: Sandra | July 22, 2010 at 03:44 AM
For me you do not need an inspiration page telling you that you are an artit; You are one! But I have to say, once again this page is awesome and it makes my hands tickly, they want to start right away with a new journal page!
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration with us!
Sunny regards from Germany - Irma

Just finished making me an art journal and I was staring at the first blank page last night summoning the courage to dive in. I went back and forth about whether I should just pick a page in the middle but after seeing your video today I am going to go for it and make my own bold declaration on the very first page! Woohoo! Thanks for the nudge. You're awesome!
