Painting poppies...
I have been filling a journal with paintings of poppies since I left for Australia. Created this in the wee hours of the morning as my body acclimates to the time change.

Looks great!! Maybe you can make a tutorial about painting poppies. I'm so in love with them and would love to use them in my art journal.

Hi Donna, so happy you are enjoying New South Wales. I'm kind of sad because I would have been going to your retreat in New Zealand if it hadn't been postponed due to not enough interest - HOW CAN THAT BE..GOOD GRIEF!!!... I think it was because the timing was around Christmas when Nikki was asking for numbers and people were concentrating on that - POOKIES IS ALL I CAN SAY! LOLOL.
Re your glorious poppies, I absolutely adore this painting and I agree with Isolde - I would love to know how to paint poppies too as they are my favourite flowers and were also my Dad's, bless his heart! Hugs...xxx

I love, love, love them. Can you show us how to paint like that? Maybe? Enjoy your stay in Australia.

Kind of reminds me of Georgia O'Keefe--love her work. And you--you just keep getting better!

Welcome to Australia, Donna. Hope you enjoy your stay here in our beautiful country!
Sorry that I live too far away to be attending your workshops!! Maybe you will visit again and come to South Australia, next time :)

I had some beautiful blue poppies in Alaska. Also some lovely yellow/orange/white/salmon colored wild ones. Love poppies!

Donna, I had SOOOO much fun watching and learning and getting my own creative juices flowing with your week long canvas book project. Some of your techniques really took me outside of my comfort zone, but I found it amazing and as you say, it all made me "totally Happy!" thank you so much for sharing your awesome talents and great humor with us this way. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!! Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu!

I'm so inspired; I never get tired; I'm so pumped up I'm totally fired....UP! Donna Downey, YOU (and Jane Bradley) have gotten me 'out of my box', as I am "virgin" to art journaling. Thank you for ALL your inspiration, your sharing and your teaching. This Inspiration Week has been wonderful.

Not enough words to appreciate this Painting poppies.
I have seen this very carefully and find colors very
skillfully and gently applied by artist. This quality
of artist make this art more realistic. It seems that
as if the real flower is kept on green green surface.
Cheer Up
