this is my first collage literally on the road.
i took a small stack of old somerset magazines, a glue stick, scissors, my journal and a black pen with me for the road trip down to atlanta this weekend. while in the car for the 4 hour drive, i cut and glued small pieces of articles and pictures in the magazine to create this poppy mosaic.
this is my favorite thus far!
thinking it might be fun to try this with catalogs or possibly junk mail too.

I have not done any collages in years but I have some throw-a-way mags and ads, I think I will do this to day.

This is fantastic. I dont think I would be able to cut up my sommerset magazines though, LOL. But great inspiration to use with a catalog and etc.

Ok, once someone said "I hope you weren't driving", know I pictured you with the scissors in one hand, journal on your lap, scissors between your teeth while you steered with one hand and stuck down little blue bits with the other!!

Love it! I used to think my magazines were special and needed to be kept protected but I've gotten over that and tear/cut/glue with reckless abandon. Mainly I just decided I don't have room to store all of them anymore and so I don't keep the piles I used to have without repurposing them from time to time. I am definitely going to dig out a couple that are collage virgins and get started on one for my collage-journal! : )

So beautiful! I'm totally inspired by this collage. With a current case of tendonitis that prevents me from doing my work (which I love) I do believe that this is a workable solution that my arm can handle! Thank you.
