todays page was inspired by the city map that i grabbed as i left the portland, maine airport last week.
i ran the map through my paper shredder (and it got jammed, notice the wrinkles), tore strips and glued the strips of map in place to create the south portland city scape and i used washi tape for the water. then, i shredded strips of black and white cardstock to create the famous lighthouse...thats me pointing to it (hee hee!)
on the glue stick homefront, i have acquired a small stash of glue stick options over the past week and i am going to compare them on the road and at home. on your advice i used the uhu purple on this weeks design and was quite happy with the results!
Love it!

The huge scotch one and the yellow ones are pretty good to use. Not so much of a fan of the yellow ones but they're nice.

This is awesome and I cant even imagine how long it would have taken to glue all those pieces together. I have never done an art journal before but was really inspired by your Collage Mondays to start one. I dont know if anyone that is participating is posting there links but here is mine. http://sandy-davis.blogspot.com/2011/07/collage-monday-focus-on-beauty.html.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Sooooo cool! Being that I live in Maine and am in Portland every week... it's totally cool to see what you did with the map and your picture of yourself at the Portland Head Light! Did you get any pictures of the ruins? Cape Elizabeth is one of the places here that really inspire me! Love it!!

I LOVE this page! I love the use of the map, but moreso, I love how you turned a creative page into a memory page! What is washi tape? Never heard of it or at least it doesn't sound familiar.

What an amazing collage you made, Donna! Your work of art made me realize that paper shredders are not only useful for disposing of one’s private information and financial data; they can also be useful for making art! Haha! I hope you dedicate the same time and effort to secure your sensitive files. :)
