ok i feel like i am in the PanPastel zone...
still trying out more substrates and surfaces for applying the pan pastels that would work with the time constraints in a class format.
i created these on tissue paper textured backgrounds and the results i think are uber-cool!
the poppy one is done on a 11 x 14 canvas board.
and this heart is on an 18 x 18 stretched canvas. i think this one makes me the happiest, feels like the heart is bursting right out of the page.
i am getting really close to the perfect workshop project...HAPPY PLACE!
Love the texture and the depth of colour in the heart.

This is scary. I had a similar idea yesterday, but using a different substrate. Still testing. Will email you the results. Love the two new pieces. I'm having much fun with the pan pastels.

Loving these! I'm so happy you're developing more classes for the Pan Pastels! I know I might not make it to the 'live' workshops, but if you're still playing, I'm hoping that means more online classes as well. :)

Donna honey, you never fail to UPLIFT MY SPIRITS! These are absolutely awesomely gobsmackingly, speechlessly GORGEOUS! I especially love the heart, it is so powerful but gentle at the same time! WOW! I still only have two colours of pan pastel and am waiting on magenta and turquoise that have been backordered through a local art shop for 3 months! aaaggghhh! Pan pastels are so hard to get here in NZ, I think I am going to have to order them from you. Hugs and smiles from New Zealand...

Love it . I do workshops . How did you get the texture?

I really like these.
How do you secure the tissue paper onto the canvas and canvas board, glue? Details?
How do you prepare that back ground before applying the pastel colors? Thanks for your guidance! Aimee

Could you explain to me the process? I would love to try this technique with my 6th graders. Do you just take a glue/water mix and a full sheet or pieces of tissue on a canvas of thick whatever...let dry....draw design carefully without ripping the tissue, then add oil pastels? They look awesome!!!

Love this technique. If you would like to see my card, it's on my blog at: vaversproductions.blogspot.com
Thank you
