It's another fabulous friday! Donna is still in Paris which means I (Melissa) am still terrorizing the blog hehe. It is shaping up to be another warm sunny day here in NC. I'm armed with a fountain soda (the best kind!) and working on more kits for the online store. I might also have to clean up the wild party evidence because the bosses will be back next week! And by wild party evidence I mean chocolate wrappers and paper scraps. Today I'll leave you with another project from Maria McGuire. This wreath just screams Spring!
Cut (5) pieces of burlap into 6" x 9" rectangles. Doesn't have to be perfect.
Glue with hot glue gun along the entire length of 9" side of burlap.
Fold burlap over.
Use a pliers or tweezers to pull out the fibers that are not glued together (see photo).
When all the fibers are pulled out, trim along the glued edge with a scissors so that only about a 1/2" of glued material seam is left.
Cut off a flower from the fabric trim and bunch together. Glue to the seam edge of the flower that you just pulled the fibers out of (see photo).
Roll until you come to the end of the fringe. Adhere with glue gun. Fluff up the fibers.
Finished Flower
Cut 1.5" lengths of burlap (use scraps) and glue around the wreath base to cover.
Rip 1.5" lengths of fabric and wrap around wreath, adhere. Make sure that you work all in the same direction so that all your ends are toward the back of the wreath. Leave approximately 1.5" - 2" inches between pieces of fabric.
Adhere 5 flowers to wreath with glue gun.
Products Used:
Styrofoam Wreath Base
Burlap
Fabric - Fuchsia Petals
Donna Downey Trim by Prima - Plum
Hot Glue Gun
Pliers or Tweezers
Melissa that is a great project - love those flowers.

I love how Maria sees things differently! The burlap turned into such a stunning flower- I never would have thought of that. The plum flowers used as the center of the burlap flower brings the colors together perfectly. Another masterpiece from Maria!
