December 2013 Canvas Create Video
WATERCOLORS / Daniel Smith Watercolors
see supplies list
this month we will use Daniel Smith Watercolors (or whatever you prefer to use) to create this watercolor canvas rich in texture and colorful depth.
"Gypsy" as i call her, starts with a stencil and is built on layers of absorbent ground, image transfer and fiber paste to create a super absorbent surface for the highly pigmented Daniel Smith watercolors to be placed on.
i will walk you step-by-step introducing the new media, tools and techniques to building the colorful blooms and layers of drips that transform the stencil outline into a stylized "gypsy" girl.
no drawing skills needed
* for those of you that have taken part and enjoyed the Canvas Create workshops over the past 2 years, thank you so much for joining me every month and stretching your creative boundaries. i will not be continuing the Canvas Create format next year, but instead incorporating this concept into a 48 week online workshop where you can choose to create on canvases or follow along in the journal creating 48 unique pieces of art.
