i always test run a workshop before i teach it on the road.
i am moving away from my traditional format of teaching several classes over the course of a weekend to teaching one jam-packed in-depth course with a group of students. for many reasons really, but mostly because i really enjoy taking the creative process through a complete range of exploratory outcomes.
as the name suggests, the "Metamorphosis" will not only involve the media we are transforming, but ideally the artist themselves!
this weekend i taught the 2-day event for the first time at my studio and quite frankly it was spectacular! the ladies created anywhere from 3-5 pieces of art and really embraced all the ideas i wanted to challenge them with. i wanted to see how much we could get done and how far i could take the concepts and even i was surprised at how much we accomplished!
i'm stoked to roll this bad-ass workshop to the masses!!
(Note: the online workshop is only a fraction of what we will do in the 2-day event, but i wanted to make a small part of the processes available to those that cannot take part in the in person events)
we are officially launching this new format in February 2015 in Byron Bay, Australia
if you would like more information about bringing this workshop to your event/store please email bill@donnadowney.com for more information and scheduling.
here are some of the candids from this weekends event at the STUDIO

I can't wait to take this in person, which I'm planning to do in Edmond, Okla., in January. At first, I was taken aback when my friend sent me a link to the online class and the price was so much different then the in-person class. It made me hesitate until I read this blog post and saw the pictures of what your in-studio test class did. Wow!!! Now I'm more excited than ever to take this class in person AND meet you! If anybody asks, I will share this quote from you:
"The online workshop is only a fraction of what we will do in the 2-day event, but i wanted to make a small part of the processes available to those that cannot take part in the in person events." Woo-hoo!!!
