how many times have i heard,
"i bought them, but i don't know how to use them."
too many!
so today i want to tell you a little PanPastel story, my story to be exact.
about 5 years ago, i walked into an art store and stood wide eyed in front of a gorgeous display of "round pretty colors". i didn't know what they were or how to use them, but i wanted them all!
a couple months later, after weeks of obsessing over them, i went back and bought all 80 (all they had at the time). i organized them, put them in their trays, and they sat for another month....don't get me wrong, i loved looking at them with their happy bright colors, but i didn't want to ruin them. i mean they cost a lot and i didn't want to smudge them, lol!!
a month later, i start devouring the internet for tutorials, videos, books, anything i can find that can help me better understand these pretty circles of color i just invested in.
i found nothing.
so i started to play,
after 6 months i had put PanPastel on anything and everything...
layering, applying, colorizing, blending, testing, succeeding, failing and finally with the questions i couldn't answer myself simply emailing the owner personally. this led to the most amazing phone conversation, which led me here!
i wanted to present PanPastel, a fine Artists media, to the mixed-media enthusiast.
package it in a series that made learning and developing skills EASY!
with the support of PanPastel, i developed a 5-part series
PanPastel 101, 102, 201, 202, 203
3-part mixed-media skill and technique building
i know many of you have bought some or maybe even ALL like me and i want you to feel confident using this dynamic media. like many of you i am a student, i absorb and devour anything NEW that i didn't know before. tricks, tips and techniques is a quick fix for me and i wanted to be able to present that and so much more to you!
i know many of you have already taken all or parts of this series and i would love for you to post in todays comments and share your experience working with PanPastel...possibly encourage those that might be intimidated by a new product like i was!
for more detailed outline of each workshop see each course description here

I am all over this like a dirty shoe Donna!!! I have a bunch of pannie's and haven't used them since your class at SC. I have to check out the classes etc and hope I can pull something off. I have never done an online class, I've always taken a visual one (because I am kind of a visual gal) so I am very exciting about trying one of yours. Talk about an awesome person to take a on-line class from Ms. Donna!!!!! Wish me luck, bbl to let you know what I decide or to tell you to delete this comment because I didn't go check before typing it (too excited I guess) - Karen

I am still drooling over the pretty round colors. Now there are so many, I don't even know which ones to buy to start with. I am relieved that there are online classes. My health is such that I can't really travel distances alone. Thank you so much.

I bought my first few at a convention the year they came out. I wasn't sure what I would do with them...I have used them more in the last year because of yours and others videos. I will look into this class. Thanks!

I had to comment on this post. I do love Pan Pastels & have taken several of Donna's online and real life classes. In fact, i wrote a blog post about my delight in Donna & her Pan Pastels classes. Well Ms. Donna, of course I jumped right over to check out the sporty new classes and of course I would like to take them all, and because I am somewhat blonde when it comes to online courses etc, I did notice how many MB's it requires to take some courses...... have I ever told you that I have no room on my hard drive lately???? I have to check with a knowledgeable friend/source on how I would go about doing such an amazing class/es. Hang tight Ms. Donna, and you know I'll have questions cause that's just the way I roll, heck you might unfriend me lol :) oh btw, you do look amazing as somewhat put in a comment, glowing etc, almost like a pregnant lady "wink lol"
