{"Industrial Marigold" #2 / 3 canvas series}
these 3 canvases were in my "art gone wrong" pile so i dug them out and began playing with textures, glazes, stencils and letting the process guide me.
i NEVER discard a canvas, no matter how hideous it gets because that is a part of the art story for me. these canvases had told 3 very different stories and the process that evolved now has them sharing the same ending. sappy right? totally makes me HAPPY!!
Rule #1
Gesso covers everything and Super heavy gesso covers it + adds amazing texture
i used my new 8x8 Marigold stencil to create the demensional floral effect with molding paste and layered in glazes to give it a very industrial feel!
i love them, not only for their "history" (because i know how truly ugly they were before) but because small pieces of their before sneak through.

Amazing...you are so inspiring! Love these pieces and the story behind them; proving that anything can be savage with some work and vision.
