As a novice to all these various types of art, collage, mixed media, art journaling etc. I sat in utter awe of the creation of this piece. I have heard of the wax thing, but have never taken the time to research it. This piece is exquisite and I thoroughly enjoyed watching these videos. You are definitely a very talented artist!

Wow, I really love this! A truly stunning piece of artwork! Incorporating the stamp as a hidden message on the back of the board was a stroke of genius!

Ivy, this piece is mesmerizing--truly a wonderful piece of art. Thank you for explaining everything thoroughly which shows your exceptional teaching abilities. I just want to get some wax and play with it. The angel wings are awesome. So many techniques in this one piece of art. I definitely want to participate in some of your classes.

Beautiful! Just a quick question. I have been under the impression that you should not use encaustic with acrylic mediums. Is this not the case??? If it's possible....oh my my.....

Hello Maria,
I am rather the rule breaker...but yes in my experience you can use wax over thinly applied acrylic paint. Craft paints works quite well too because they are more matte. I haven't had any problems with my wax pieces. :) Have fun! xo, Ivy
